Wednesday 4th marks the beginning of our Hackney Independent Socialists Launch Week (and a bit). We’re doing a mix of activities to spread the word that Hackney has a new political party and to share what we stand for.

The climaxis a fabulous party and fundraiser at Cafe Z Bar in Dalston on Friday 13th February from 7 to 10pm. You can book tickets via this link from just £11 including food and live music – If you’re busy that night but want to contribute, there’s an option to donate a ticket and if you want to come but can’t afford it, email us to claim one of the donated tickets.

As well as the party, we’d love for you to join us at any of these other campaign and community activities – the two big campaign afternoons this weekend are in bold:

  • Wednesday 4th is a Clissold People’s Forum for local residents to share their concerns and plan collective action for change – join us from 6.30pm in Milton Gardens Community Hall, N16 8TL
  • Thursday 5th, we’re having our final Hackney Independent Socialist Collective members meeting before the May elections, followed by a social from 9pm in the Pembury Tavern
  • On Friday 6th, we’ll be doing community leafleting from 1pm outside the Hackney Central Mosque in Well Street
  • On Saturday 7th, from 11am to 12.30pm, we’re joining Morning Lane People’s Space to leaflet outside Argun Stationers in support of the shop’s campaign against being evicted by their landlord The Arch Company, and then…
  • From 1 to 3pm on Saturday, we’re joining Hackney Votes Palestine 2026 to leaflet one of our target wards Victoria meeting outside Lauriston Grocers E9 7LH, followed by a social
  • On Sunday 8th, we’ll be taking part in the Hackney Greens Big Day Out with a mass canvassing across three of our target wards. To knock on doors and talk to voters, join us any time from 12-4pm at Hackney Picturehouse E8 1HE (for Homerton ward) and on Victoria Park Village Green E9 7LD (for Victoria ward)
  • Also on Sunday, in Clissold ward, we’ll be mixing door knocking with riding a bike fitted with a speaker and leafleting, meeting outside St Mary’s Church on Church Street at 12pm – call Fliss on 07981753970, if you arrive later
  • On Monday 9th at 7pm, we’re holding a meeting on the Power of International Solidarity with a briefing on the situation in Cuba in Prideaux House, E9 7DL
  • On Tuesday 10th, we’ll be joining the Together Against the Far Right London Launch – 6:30-9pm, at Earth, N16 8BH
  • On Wednesday 11th, we’ll be joining the Behind the Rent Strike screening – 6:30-9pm, at the Rio Cinema, book tickets via this link
  • Finally, hours before our party, on Friday 13th, we’ll be doing more community leafleting – 11.30am-1.30pm outside Tesco on Morning Lane
