Rolf Dekker (he/him) is raising his young children in Victoria, Hackney. A digital marketer and copywriter originally from the Netherlands, his background in the Dutch Green Party (GroenLinks) fostered his pragmatic approach to community problems. A committed daily cyclist and parent, he is an active member of the ‘Safer Roads and Clean Air in South Hackney’ campaign. Rolf believes in listening to locals, especially when LTN schemes risk dividing communities.
Rolf says: “Listening and mediation is how we fix Hackney’s traffic, making it safer and more accessible for residents and businesses. Casework is about solving everyday problems—from schools in need to unsafe junctions—with total transparency. I aim to bridge the gap between Green policy and the lived realities of Hackney residents.”

Working together for Victoria Ward
What we are building here is historic for Hackney, and rare elsewhere too. Two groups working together with a shared local message, choosing collaboration over confrontation, because Hackney needs action, not political point scoring. Our Green Councillors have worked closely with Cllr Penny Wrout and Cllr Claudia Turbet-Delof from the Hackney Independent Socialist Collective (HISC) for two years at the Town Hall.
We are not the same party, and we won’t always agree on everything. We work together where we have common ground, and are open and honest with residents about where we differ.
For the May 2026 local elections in Victoria Ward, we are proud to stand alongside Penny and Claudia and ask for your support for them as part of a team dedicated to real change.
Penny Wrout lives in Victoria Ward, which she has represented for nearly 8 years, working to help residents with housing, transport and waste problems. She believes the council should be more transparent and campaigned for the safeguarding review into Mossbourne Victoria Park school.
Claudia Turbet-Delof emigrated from Bolivia to Britain in 2003 and has lived and raised her family in Hackney, London since then. She is passionate about socio economic independence and the impact hardship and exclusion have on mental health and personal development. Claudia has worked fighting for community cohesion through trade unionism demanding workers rights, women’s rights, migrants rights and wider communities rights to access education and health.
